DIAGNOSING
Qualification of the patient for implantological treatment is based on:
- Medical history
- Clinical examination and x-ray image
- Medical tests
Treatment planning starts from discussion with the patient, establishing his
needs, and providing by the doctor all available information about possible
methods, it’s advantages and disadvantages.
During clinical examination the first issue is to establish the quantity and quality
of bone tissue, which would be the basis for implant.
It is necessary to perform panoramic x-ray images
and eventually computed tomography.
Previous and present medical conditions are taken
into consideration, therefore initial conversation with the patient is very important.
Some conditions are contraindications for implantological treatment.
These tests help to establish present status and offer optimal solutions, that
meet patient expectations and capabilities.
Patient should be aware of taking responsibility for maintaining the implant,
especially high level of hygiene and coming for follow-up visits. |
