WHY MILK TEETH ARE WORTH TREATING?

First milk teeth erupt around sixth month of life, at age two-three child
has full milk dentition. When child is 5-6 year old, first permanent teeth
appear.

Last milk teeth remain till age of 12, so from age of 6 till 12 our children
use mixed dentition.

Why is it worth treating?

1. They keep the space for permanent teeth. Premature loss of milk
tooth can lead to closure of space for permanent tooth and so called tooth contusion.
2. Healthy milk teeth provide proper chewing. Children having sick milk teeth (caries)
are vulnerable for pain during chewing, they frequently avoid hard foods. It may
lead to incorrect jaw development, digestive disorders and child’s growth.
3. Presence of milk teeth is necessary for proper speech development
4. Healthy milk teeth provide aesthetics and at the same time good feeling
5. Caries in milk teeth often leads to pulp inflammation, and as
a consequence to problems with chewing, stress and fear
form dentist.
