SEALING

This is filling of fissures and crypts on chewing surfaces of molar
and premolar teeth.

Sealing if fissures are made with composite resin which are
chemo- or light hardened.

Superficial fissures sealing in chewing surfaces of first permanent
molar teeth should be done directly after their eruption, in children
age of six or selen, and in case of second permanent molar teeth
in age 11-13.

Efficacy in reducing caries after properly performed fissure
sealing reaches 90% after two years, and in five-seven year
follow up reaches 50%. Sealing may wear away or come out,
so during follow-up visit it should be corrected.

During sealing the fissures are cleaned with brushes
and pastes, rinsing, drying, applying sealing and exposition
under polimerization lamp.
