PROPER ORAL HYGIENE

1. Teeth brushing

  • Medium hard tooth brushes are made of thin bristles, packed
together in tight fibers. They remove soft dental deposits, without
    damaging dental surfaces and gums.
Toothbrush should be replaced every two-three months or when
first signs of weariness are visible. It is suggested to replace
toothbrush after bacterial and fungal infection in the oral cavity.

  • Many patients ask about effectiveness of electric tooth brush, but it
depends only on brushing technique, both in case of ordinary toothbrush
    and electric one.

  • Brushing technique. Brushing should be done at least twice
a day, for two-three minutes. Brush is applied at 45 degrees
angle to the teeth surface, with circular motion in case of
healthy gums starting from gum borderline and cleaning
every dental surface. During brushing we massage the gums,
improving blood and lymph circulation. There are different brushing techniques.
In our clinic we choose individually the one, that is best for you.

  • After teeth brushing it is also recommended to brush the tounge,
which is densily seeded with bacterias, and sometimes is the
main source of bad smell and secondary infection of pathological
    gum pouches.

2. Applying accessory hygienic devices

  • dental flosses
  • tooth picks
  • interteeth brushes

They are used for clearing spaces between teeth. Research
showed, that about 70% cases of canal treatment comes from
caries defects starting on contact surfaces.
